A prequel to the 2015 film "Inside Men," which drew 7.07 million moviegoers, is set to be produced.
Titled "Inside Men: Birth of Villains," the film tells a story set 30 years before the events of the original 2015 movie.
Set in the late 1980s, the movie depicts how the cartel between the media, capital, and political power that moved South Korea first began.
Ha Jung-woo has been cast as Lee Kang-hee, the newspaper journalist originally played by Baek Yoon-sik in "Inside Men."
He is a reporter who dreamed of breaking a corporate corruption scoop, only to be pushed to a marginal position due to external pressure, and he also serves as a key figure in creating the cartel.
Additionally, the roles of talent agency head Ahn Sang-goo (originally played by Lee Byung-hun) and Jang Pil-woo (originally played by Lee Kyung-young) will be played by Ahn Bohyun and Park Hae-joon, respectively.
