Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Kim Yoon-duk and Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon discussed ways to utilize Yongsan Park for housing supply this morning (August 20), but only confirmed their differences in stance.
Minister Kim stated, "We confirmed our respective differing positions and agreed to meet again next week to continue the discussions."
Mayor Oh said, "I told them that it is difficult to agree to convert even a limited area of Yongsan Park into residential land," adding, "I even expressed that agreeing to it would result in remaining as a sinner to history as the mayor of Seoul."
He also noted, "I proposed a compromise to discuss sites scattered near the Yongsan Park site with flexibility."
The two plan to meet again next week to resume discussions regarding the utilization of Yongsan Park.
