The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced today (August 19) that the lower-half South Korea-U.S. joint exercise, Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS), will conclude early the day after tomorrow following a proposal from the U.S. side.
The UFS exercise was originally scheduled to run from August 17 to August 27, but it will end six days ahead of schedule.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff explained that the allied outdoor field maneuvers will also be scaled back, and both nations are currently discussing the specific details.
