A family of four who drifted away while playing in the water at a beach in Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do, has been rescued by the Coast Guard.
According to the Uljin Coast Guard today (August 19), a report was received at 3:39 p.m. the previous day stating that four family members were drifting out to sea while playing on tubes and rubber boats near Bongpyeong Beach in Jukbyeon-myeon, Uljin-gun.
The Uljin Coast Guard dispatched the Uljin Rescue Team, the Jukbyeon Substation, and a patrol vessel to the scene. They located the drifting family members just 7 minutes after the report and rescued them using a motorized rescue board.
All four rescued individuals were reported to be in good health with no injuries.
Kim Gi-sik, head of the safety management division at the Uljin Coast Guard, advised, "You must check weather and maritime conditions before engaging in water activities."
