Broadcaster and painter Lee Hye-young, 54, has shared her warmth for neighbors affected by torrential downpours centered in the southern regions, including Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province.
According to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Lim Chae-chung) on the 18th, Lee donated 30 million won in relief funds for victims of the heavy rain damage in Geoje. The collected funds will be used to restore the affected areas and help victims recover their daily lives.
Lee is a member of the Hope Bridge Honors Club, a group of major donors to Hope Bridge, and has consistently expressed her support through donations whenever disasters occur, starting with the Gangwon wildfires in 2019. Including this donation, her cumulative contributions delivered to Hope Bridge reach 210 million won.
Lee stated, "My heart ached so much seeing the scenes of the damage reported on the news," adding, "I sincerely hope that neighbors suffering from the sudden disaster can return to their safe and peaceful daily lives as soon as possible."
