The May 18 Democratic Uprising-related seminar was hosted by People Power Party Representative Lee Jin-suk and others at the National Assembly Library on the 13th.
At the seminar, claims that distorted and disparaged the spirit of May 18, such as denying responsibility on the part of Chun Doo-hwan, poured out.

Some 3,000 responsible members of the People Power Party visited the party headquarters in Yeouido and filed an ethics complaint against Representative Lee Jin-suk, demanding, "Please issue the highest level of disciplinary action, including expulsion or a recommendation to leave the party."
[Choi Jun-young / People Power Party Responsible Member: If heavy disciplinary action is not taken against National Assembly Member Lee Jin-suk, who incited public division, the People Power Party should take down its sign as a democratic party right away today.]
The complaint also contained criticisms stating, "Despite Floor Leader Jeong Jum-sik's request to cancel the event, Representative Lee defied the party's will," and "It directly went against the party line acknowledging the historical legitimacy of the May 18 Democratic Uprising, and she walked straight into a frame that brands the entire party as a force that disparages May 18."
The leadership of the People Power Party stated that because the seminar was not an event at the party level, it is difficult to specifically discuss the leadership's stance, while adding the following:
[Park Sung-hoon / People Power Party Senior Spokesperson: It was an academic event, and we are not reviewing disciplinary action at this time.]
The People Power Party Ethics Committee is scheduled to hold a meeting to discuss whether to discipline four affiliated lawmakers, drawing attention to whether Representative Lee Jin-suk will also be included as a subject of discussion.
