Extreme downpours poured over the Yeongnam region during the holiday period.
From Saturday until now, Geoje has received over 800mm of torrential rain.
The South Gyeongsang region has also seen heavy rain exceeding 200mm.
Looking at the current radar imagery, strong red rain clouds are positioned over the South Gyeongsang region.
Light rain is falling in various other places.
Consequently, heavy rain warnings and advisories remain in effect for parts of the southern coast of South Gyeongsang Province and Jeju Island.
Strong and heavy rain is expected to continue in the South Gyeongsang and Jeju regions until this morning.
Looking at the expected precipitation, more than 250mm of heavy rain will concentrate in the southern coastal areas of South Gyeongsang Province, and over 100mm in Jeju.
Most of the rain will stop by late morning, but it will continue until tonight in the Yeongnam and Jeju regions.
Centered around the central and Honam regions where the rain ends earlier, sudden shower clouds may develop between this afternoon and tonight.
Daytime temperatures will be similar to yesterday (the 16th).
Seoul's daytime high is expected to reach 30°C (86°F), and Daegu 28°C (82°F).
Tomorrow, as people return to their daily routines, light rain may fall in parts of the southern regions and Jeju during the morning commute.
