Amid BTS's boycott of the Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy has hinted at the possibility of reconsidering the controversial Best Asian Pop Music Performance category.
The Grammys recently stated through a statement that some artists feel the Asian Pop category does not accurately represent their music, adding that they will work to ensure musicians feel truly respected.
They also added that, with the number of award categories exceeding 100, it is time to consider how to further develop their efforts.
In response, Billboard projected that the Grammys could unusually reorganize the Asian Pop category starting from next year's ceremony.
The Recording Academy, which hosts the Grammy Awards, is reportedly currently holding discussions with music industry figures in the Asian region and seeking their advice.
