Director Hong Sang-soo has won the Best Director award at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland for his new film, "A Hidden Place."
Lead actor Kim Min-hee received the Best Acting award.
Director Hong's 35th feature film, "A Hidden Place," follows the story of a daughter from a divorced family who heads to Jeju Island to find her mother whom she last saw 10 years ago.
The film stars Kim Min-hee, Choi Myung-gil, and Kwon Hae-hyo.
Upon winning the Best Director award, Director Hong expressed his gratitude to the festival organizers for inviting him and allowing his film to be screened.
Kim Min-hee, who won the acting award for this film, thanked the director for creating a film as beautiful as poetry, and added that she would watch the film again whenever her heart feels heavy and stifled.
