At around 6:00 PM today (August 15), six hikers were stung by wasps on Oeyeodo Island, Ocheon-myeon, Boryeong-si, South Chungcheong Province.
Among them, a man in his 60s experienced a loss of consciousness and severe abnormal reactions, but after receiving emergency treatment, it was confirmed that his life is not in danger.
The Coast Guard stated that all six individuals stung by the wasps were confirmed to be in stable condition with no health abnormalities.
An official from the Boryeong Coast Guard said, "Please avoid areas during outdoor activities where beehives or large numbers of wasps gather," and added, "If abnormal symptoms such as difficulty breathing or loss of consciousness occur after being stung by a wasp, please report it to 119 immediately."
