Trailing heavily 67-41 through the third quarter, the Sparks mounted a fierce comeback with 40 points in the fourth quarter to create a tight contest, but ultimately failed to pull off the victory.
With a 12-21 record for the season, the LA Sparks sit in 11th place among 15 teams.
The New York Liberty improved to 21-14, holding down sixth place.
