The North Korean Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy in North Korea held an exchange event to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
According to the Chinese Embassy in North Korea on the 14th, a North Korea-China friendship exchange event took place at the embassy in Pyongyang the previous day.
Attendees from the North Korean Foreign Ministry included Vice Foreign Minister Kim Myong-su, Consular Department Director Meng Yong-rim, Treaty and Law Department Director Kim Song-il, Protocol Department II Director Kim Won-bong, Asian Affairs Department I Deputy Director Park Yu-il, International Organizations Department Deputy Director Park Jung-wan, and Protocol Department I Deputy Director Kim Myong-jin. From the Chinese side, Ambassador Wang Yajun and Minister Counselor Chi Han were present.
According to the Chinese Embassy, Vice Minister Kim stated, "The two historic meetings between General Secretary Kim Jong Un and General Secretary Xi Jinping have led North Korea-China relations into a new golden age." He added, "Cooperation across various fields between the two countries has achieved positive progress, demonstrating to the world that the traditional friendship between North Korea and China is unbreakable and vibrant."
Kim also noted, "We believe that under the deep care and wise guidance of the supreme leaders of the two parties and two countries, the traditional friendly cooperative relations between North Korea and China will achieve new and greater developments." He further stated, "The Foreign Ministry is willing to continuously strengthen close communication and cooperation with the Chinese Embassy, driving greater contributions to the development of North Korea-China relations and the socialist construction of both nations," as conveyed by the Chinese Embassy.
Ambassador Wang Yajun assessed, "Under the wise guidance and joint leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Kim Jong Un, China-North Korea relations have opened a new chapter." He added, "Both sides are firmly implementing the important consensus reached by the supreme leaders of the two parties and countries, accumulating momentum for the development of bilateral relations."
Wang further remarked, "China-North Korea relations stand at a new historical starting point, facing new development opportunities and shouldering new missions of the times." He stated, "China is willing to continue carrying forward the fine tradition of uniting as one and cooperating closely with North Korea, and to propel China-North Korea relations to advance with the times and achieve even greater development."
