At around 1:30 AM today (August 14), a fire broke out on a 25-ton cargo truck loaded with steel materials on the Sangju-Yeongcheon Expressway bound for Sangju, near the Dogae Interchange in Dogae-myeon, Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province.

The driver, a man in his 70s, evacuated the vehicle, resulting in no casualties.

Firefighters dispatched to the scene after receiving a report brought the major flames under control in one hour and 20 minutes and are currently dousing remaining sparks.
