A man in his 50s, identified as A, was rescued after falling into the water while kayaking off the coast of Saryangdo Island in Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do, at around 7:45 PM yesterday (August 13).
It was learned that Mr. A directly called 112 for help after his kayak flipped over while he was fishing.
Upon receiving the report, the Sacheon Coast Guard swiftly dispatched a rescue team and safely rescued Mr. A.
An official from the Coast Guard urged, "Water leisure equipment such as kayaks is highly susceptible to changes in weather and sea conditions, so you must check weather forecasts before setting out," adding, "Please be sure to wear a life jacket while engaging in activities."
