Fire Breaks Out at Asphalt Manufacturing Plant in Jincheon, North Chungcheong Province; Man in 60s Suffers Second-Degree Burns Over Entire Body

At around 1:30 PM today (August 13), a fire broke out at an asphalt manufacturing plant in Gwanghyeowon-myeon, Jincheon-gun, North Chungcheong Province.

Fire authorities issued a Level 1 response about 20 minutes after the fire started and brought the major flames under control around 3:40 PM.

The fire left the plant's owner, a man in his 60s, with second-degree burns over his entire body, and he was transported to a hospital. He is reportedly not in life-threatening condition.

Fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the property damage once they extinguish the remaining embers.
