TWICE member CHAEYOUNG is taking a new step as a solo artist while leaving JYP Entertainment.
On the 13th, CHAEYOUNG shared her future activity plans through a handwritten letter directly addressed to TWICE's fandom, ONCE. She expressed her intention to continue her music career within her own worldview, "LIL FANTASY," and shared that she wanted to deliver this news to ONCE first.
CHAEYOUNG also did not forget to express her gratitude toward JYP Entertainment and the group TWICE. She showed appreciation for the company and group that supported and believed in her for 14 years, and showed affection for the members who stood by her as a source of strength.
She also made it clear that, separate from her solo activities, her activities as a member of TWICE will continue without change. Finding the reason she can receive such love today in the time she has spent promoting as TWICE, she conveyed deep affection for the group. She also shared her hope to become someone who can deliver precious music to fans' lives both as CHAEYOUNG of TWICE and CHAEYOUNG of "LIL FANTASY."
Previously, CHAEYOUNG released her first solo album, "LIL FANTASY vol.1," in September of last year, showcasing her unique worldview and musical color. The album received favorable reviews, ranking 86th on Rolling Stone's "The 100 Best Albums of 2025."
CHAEYOUNG concluded her letter with a determination to become an even greater person through new challenges, alongside affectionate greetings to her fans.
Earlier, as TWICE reached their second contract renewal season 11 years after their debut, the members have been contemplating their individual paths.
Following member JEONGYEON's exclusive contract with Varo Entertainment, home to her older sister actor Gong Seung-yeon, which marked her departure from JYP, the possibility has also been raised that Taiwan-born member TZUYU may not renew her contract with JYP and find a new agency.
