Major League Baseball (MLB) player Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants has been silenced for two consecutive days.
Playing as the leadoff hitter and right fielder in a home game against the Houston Astros at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California, Lee went hitless with five at-bats.
Having gone hitless in nine at-bats over the past two days, Lee's batting average fell from 0.300 to 0.293.
Lee was retired on a groundout to third base in the first inning and a popup to shortstop with runners on first and second with no outs in the second inning.
In the fourth inning, he hit a deep fly ball toward left-center, but it was caught by a stellar defensive play from Houston center fielder Daulton Varsho, leaving him with missed opportunities.
After grounding out to third base again in the sixth inning, Lee came up to bat in the bottom of the ninth with his team trailing 2-1 and was retired on a second base groundout, ending the game.
