An SUV plunged from the rooftop parking lot of a food ingredient mart in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, at around 6:30 PM today (August 12).
Fire authorities responding to the emergency found a female driver in her 20s, identified as A, in cardiac arrest and transported her to a hospital, but she ultimately passed away.
According to the investigation, the accident occurred while A was moving forward in the rooftop parking lot after her mother, who had been in the front passenger seat, got out of the vehicle. The car broke through a sandwich panel railing and fell to the ground below.
Police confirmed that the deceased driver was unlicensed and are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
