A fire broke out at a furniture factory in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, injuring one firefighter who was battling the blaze.

The fire started at around 11:17 a.m. today (August 12) at a furniture factory located in Yuyang-dong, Yangju.

At around 12:00 p.m. while firefighting operations were underway, a retaining wall collapsed and struck a firefighter in his 30s, identified as Mr. A.

Mr. A, who was trapped under the debris of the retaining wall, sustained injuries to his ankle and other parts of his leg and was transported to a hospital.

Five people, including factory personnel, evacuated on their own, preventing any further casualties.

Fire authorities mobilized around 20 pieces of equipment and approximately 60 personnel, completely extinguishing the fire 2 hours and 12 minutes after it began.
