Group BLACKPINK member Rosé has directly apologized to fans regarding the controversy surrounding the events for their 10th debut anniversary.
Rosé recently took to a fan platform, starting by saying, "Blink, I've had a lot on my mind over the past few days, which is why I couldn't write to you sooner." She continued, "I think I felt a great deal of regret as we welcomed this 10th anniversary, which I had been waiting for just as much as Blink. It wasn't that I didn't understand how the fans felt; rather, I related to it so much that it took me a little while to sort out what to say first."
She added, "My heart is heavy thinking that I might have made you feel even more lonely during that time. I am leaving this message now, even if a bit late, because I wanted to convey my sincerity to Blink, even if just a little."
Previously, BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa held a Meet & Greet event to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary on the 8th at the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, meeting with 40 fans. Despite the significance of the event, the notice was announced just two days prior, causing confusion among fans. Complaints had already arisen before the event because it was initially reported that only some members would attend. Confusion escalated when it was mistakenly rumored that Rosé would not be attending, prompting Rosé to announce her attendance through her agency.
Rosé expressed her regret, saying, "This 10-year journey of growing together, cherishing one another, and walking side by side with Blink holds immense meaning for me, and my biggest wish was for us to celebrate together. That is why I wanted August 8th to be a time of laughter and happiness for all of us, but things didn't go as hoped, leaving me with a heart full of apologies." She concluded by saying, "I sincerely thank the many Blinks who came to see us despite this hot weather. It was so wonderful to meet again after such a long time, and I want to tell you how sorry I am."
Previously, Jisoo also left a long message on the fan platform around midnight on the 8th. Jisoo stated, "I just wanted to tell all four of us that we love you so, so, so much, and express how deeply precious you are to us." In particular, Jisoo drew attention after she was captured shedding tears inside a vehicle after finishing the 10th-anniversary event. Regarding this, she guarded against overinterpretation, saying, "I hope you don't read too many meanings into my tears. I just want to wrap it up as being moved by our 10 years together, gathering all kinds of emotions."
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK debuted on August 8, 2016, and celebrated their 10th anniversary on the 8th.
