Pakistani Defense Minister Says US and Iran 'Close to Some Sort of Agreement'

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, who has been mediating ceasefire negotiations between the United States and Iran, stated in an interview with Bloomberg on the 11th (local time) that the U.S. and Iran are close to "some sort of agreement."

Minister Asif said, "Things are unfolding again in a direction favorable to a peace treaty or an agreement."

He added, "The signals appearing over the past two to three days show that both sides are right on the verge of reaching an agreement in some form."

Meanwhile, Iranian state-run SNN reported that Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to visit Tehran on this day to meet with Iranian officials.

In addition, Majed Mohammed Al Ansari, spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs—another mediating country—shared the situation regarding negotiations between Iran and Oman over the resumption of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, noting that positive remarks are coming from both countries.

During a briefing on the same day, Spokesperson Al Ansari said, "We have heard positive statements from both countries over the past few days, and we are looking forward to the outcome."
