A large-scale fire broke out at a massive chemical plant in Sao Paulo state, Brazil, triggered by the explosion of flammable materials, prompting an emergency evacuation of around 150 residents.
Large amounts of flammable substances, such as industrial solvents and polyester resin, were stored inside the plant, causing successive explosions that rapidly spread flames across the entire facility.
Black smoke and pillars of fire were visible from tens of kilometers away, as some 90 firefighters and 30 fire trucks were deployed to battle the blaze for hours.
Residents' fear heightened further as black smoke billowed from drainage systems around the plant and manhole covers were blown off by explosions.
This incident follows a series of factory fires and chemical leaks in the vicinity just a few months ago, compounding anxiety among local residents.
