The head of an obstetrics and gynecology clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, has been caught by police on charges of self-administering medical narcotics.
The Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced today (August 10) that it is investigating doctor A, who operates a clinic in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, without detention on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Doctor A is suspected of administering propofol, a psychotropic substance, to himself at the hospital on the afternoon of August 6.
It was learned that the police caught onto the circumstances of doctor A's self-administration while inspecting the hospital.
The police booked doctor A as a suspect and are currently investigating the details surrounding the drug administration.
