Kang Baek-sin, a prosecutor at the Daegu High Prosecutors' Office who led the second investigative team into the Daejang-dong development corruption scandal, has expressed his intention to resign, according to SBS coverage.
Kang is reported to have submitted his resignation to the Daegu High Prosecutors' Office this morning (the 10th).
Kang is widely regarded within the prosecution as a representative special investigation expert.
Notably, while serving as the head of the Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 3 under then Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office Chief Song Kyung-ho in 2023, he investigated allegations of corruption in the Daejang-dong development alongside Uhm Hee-jun, head of Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 1, during which time he indicted Lee Jae-myung, then leader of the Democratic Party.
