People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyeok: "This Administration Is a Government That Has Given Up on Its People"

People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyeok criticized the administration today (the 10th), stating, "While the Lee Jae-myung administration has professed to be a government of popular sovereignty, it has long abandoned the people. It is not a government of popular sovereignty, but a government that has given up on its people."

During a Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly, Jang said, "President Lee remarked that 'policies that harm the people's lives are worse than doing nothing,' yet the administration is successively rolling out policies that the people oppose, policies that only harm the people, and policies that are worse than doing nothing."

He went on to urge, "This is a president who stubbornly pushes forward only with things the people ask not to be done, and a ruling party that forces through only what the public opposes. President Lee Jae-myung should immediately dismiss Cheong Wa Dae Policy Chief Kim Yong-beom, and a parliamentary investigation and special counsel probe must be conducted regarding single-stock leverage exchange-traded funds (ETFs)."

Jang pointed out, "The government even stepped up to reduce Individual Savings Account (ISA) benefits, and now the president is acting like it's someone else's business, questioning 'Why was it done that way?' This is not something the president should ask the government; it is something the people should demand of the president."

He also criticized, "The real estate market has already been turned into hell through all sorts of regulations and loan controls, and now the president comes out saying he will eliminate the 'marriage penalty.' Now they are even talking about creating youth housing out of '廢-buses' (retired buses). They ask us to brush it off as a mere haptice, but is this something to be thrown around like a haptice to young people who are forced to give up their futures?"

Calling it "a free-for-all of nonsense that mocks youth and plays with the public," he snapped, "Instead of telling young people to live in retired buses, I hope they move the Democratic Party headquarters and Democratic Party lawmakers' offices into retired buses first."
