▲ The 7th Songdo Beach Festival
The Songdo Beach Festival, which recreates Incheon's former Songdo Amusement Park, kicked off at Songdo Moonlight Park on the 8th.
The Yeonsu Cultural Foundation in Incheon announced that it is holding the beach festival at Songdo Moonlight Park for a week from the 8th through the 15th of this month.
The festival venue features various themed water areas, including large pools, a climbing pool, and a polar bear pool, alongside an artificial beach and sand playground.
In particular, to recreate the nostalgic atmosphere of the old Songdo Amusement Park, retro amusement rides such as a carousel, Viking ride, and pedal boats are also on display.
During the festival period, water gun battles and canoe experiences that the whole family can enjoy are taking place, alongside various convenience facilities such as a campnic zone with an LED campfire, photo zones, a self-mat zone, and a cool zone.
Major facilities and programs, including the water pools, are entirely free of charge, with the exception of only a few specific experiences.
The festival runs from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and a celebratory performance by the band Crying Nut will be held on the closing day.
Yeonsu District Mayor Lee Jae-ho said, "This year's Songdo Beach Festival has significantly expanded its water recreation facilities so that citizens can create wonderful memories."
