The Coast Guard has launched a search operation after receiving a report that three people who went fishing on a motorboat in the waters off Incheon have lost contact.
According to the Jungbu Regional Coast Guard on Sunday (August 10), a report was filed through 112 at 10:30 p.m. the previous day, stating, "We cannot get in touch with my husband and two acquaintances who went out fishing on a 0.28-ton motorboat."
Authorities learned that the reporter had lost contact with the group after their last phone call at 7:10 p.m. the previous day.
The Coast Guard has deployed rescue teams, patrol vessels, and aircraft to the waters near Jawoldo, Ongjin-gun, where an accident is suspected, and has requested search and rescue cooperation from the Navy and nearby private vessels.
