Police have launched an investigation after a post threatening a bomb attack at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul was uploaded online.
The Seoul Seongbuk Police Station received a report at around 2:25 a.m. today (August 9) that a post warning of a bomb attack had been uploaded to a broadcasting station's tip-off platform.
The post stated that a bomb had been placed near Yeouido Hangang Park, threatening that people would be severely injured or killed unless 10 million won was deposited.
Currently, the 2026 Hangang Festival is taking place across nine Hangang parks, featuring movie screenings, music concerts, and water leisure experiences.
Police are tracking down the author on charges of making public threats, while deploying a police commando unit to the Hangang Park area to check for any explosives.
