A four-vehicle collision on an expressway has left at least two people injured.
At around 1:10 PM today (August 9), a passenger car driven by a 58-year-old man identified as A rear-ended a vehicle ahead of it near the Bupyeong Interchange on the Gyeongin Expressway bound for Incheon.
Authorities reported that the impact pushed the vehicle forward, causing successive collisions with an SUV and other cars in front, affecting a total of four vehicles.
The accident resulted in injuries to at least two people, including a 7-year-old child and a woman in her 20s who were inside the vehicles, and they were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The aftermath of the crash caused traffic congestion stretching about 1 kilometer in the area.
Police are investigating the exact cause of the incident, focusing on the possibility that the driver was not paying sufficient attention to the road ahead.
