▲ Police Loss Compensation Guide
Citizens who suffer property loss during the lawful execution of police duties will now find it easier to claim compensation for their losses.
The Korean National Police Agency announced today (August 9) that it will implement a comprehensive improvement plan for the loss compensation system starting tomorrow (August 10).
Police loss compensation is a system where the government provides financial compensation to blameless citizens who suffer losses while police officers are lawfully carrying out their duties.
The police will introduce loss compensation guidebooks and text message (SMS) notifications to guide citizens through the claims process, alongside operating a "loss appraisal advisory group."
The review process will also be simplified for small-scale claims.
The police expect that this institutional improvement will enhance understanding of loss compensation and allow for the active payment of compensation to citizens who have suffered losses.
