High school volleyball player Son Seo-yeon, often called the "Little Kim Yeon-koung," is continuing to prove her worth on the global stage. Today (August 8), she showcased exceptional attacking power against Chinese Taipei, leading the team to its second consecutive victory.

South Korea, which defeated Chinese Taipei in a full-set thriller to win the Asian Championship final last November, maintained its momentum in this rematch ten months later.
"Little Kim Yeon-koung" Son Seo-yeon spearheaded the attack.
Midway through a tightly contested first set, Son rattled the opponent's reception with sharp serves, including a sudden drop serve. South Korea successfully seized the early initiative by scoring four consecutive points during her service run.
After dropping the second set to Chinese Taipei's counterattack, Son took flight again in the third set.
She unleashed powerful spikes from all over the court, accurately converting even difficult balls from unstable receptions into successful attacks.
With Son racking up a team-high 17 points by the early part of the fourth set to secure the momentum, Jang Su-in and Eom Seo-min also pierced every corner of the court and celebrated with various scoring routines, relishing the joy of victory.
The national team won 3-1 to claim its second straight victory in the group stage.
With a combined 45 points across two matches, Son rose to the top of the overall scoring leaderboard among players from 24 nations.
[Interview / Son Seo-yeon / U-17 Women's Volleyball National Team]: "I think we were able to show such great performance because my teammates, coaches, and I all shared the same mindset and really wanted to win. Our goal is to get past the remaining preliminary matches, advance through the round of 16 and quarterfinals, and make it to the semifinals."
Our national team will look to secure its third consecutive win and lock in a spot in the round of 16 tomorrow against Italy.
