Amid a continuous heat wave, a power outage hit an apartment complex in Suseong-gu, Daegu, at around 11:30 PM last night (August 7), leaving 1,200 households inconvenienced for over five hours.
Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) explained that although it completed the restoration of the external high-voltage distribution line at around 2:20 AM, the electricity supply has been delayed due to a failure in the apartment's internal facilities.
Power outages also occurred in various parts of the country, including Wonju, Gangwon Province, where electricity was cut off to about 1,000 households in an apartment complex in Taejang-dong at around 8:00 PM, and in Paldal-gu, Suwon, where power supply to some 150 households was suspended for about four hours starting at 5:30 PM due to power overload.
