President Lee Jae-myung is presiding over the second real estate policy inspection meeting to discuss housing supply measures for the Seoul metropolitan area. Detailed matters, including the content and timing of the upcoming real estate supply measures to be announced by the government, are expected to be coordinated during today's meeting (August 7).

President Lee Jae-myung began presiding over the second real estate policy inspection meeting at 2:00 PM to discuss housing supply measures for the metropolitan area.
Immediately after returning from his overseas trip four days ago at the first meeting he presided over, President Lee called for a complete overhaul of housing supply measures and ordered the swift preparation of supply plans. He is reportedly receiving and reviewing reports on the results examined by various ministries.
Intensive coordination is also expected regarding detailed matters, such as the content and timing of the government's upcoming supply announcement.
In a briefing yesterday, Senior Presidential Spokesperson Kang Yu-jung stated, "We are reviewing multifaceted plans concerning the expansion of housing supply and the speed ordered by the President," suggesting the possibility that specific details and the announcement schedule of the supply measures could be drawn from today's meeting.
Meanwhile, various opinions regarding housing supply are also being exchanged within the ruling Democratic Party.
During a closed-door meeting held yesterday by Democratic Party lawmakers and city councilors representing Seoul constituencies, measures to expand supply were by far the main point of interest.

The Democratic Party is also looking into ways to increase the supply of non-apartment housing, such as villas and officetels, which take relatively less time to actually supply, in addition to regular apartments.
A member of the Democratic Party leadership stated, "Reflecting budgets related to modular housing, which is the fastest to build despite higher construction costs, into next-year's budget bill is also under review."
