▲ People Power Party Representative Yoo Yong-won holds a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Hall on the 7th to propose a resolution condemning the Lee Jae-myung administration's push to establish a unified military academy driven by political motives and urging the establishment of an officer training system based on the expertise of each military branch.
Around 30 conservative opposition lawmakers, including those from the People Power Party, proposed a resolution today condemning President Lee Jae-myung's remarks regarding a "Korea Military Academy-led coup" and the rushed push for a unified military academy.
The resolution was spearheaded by Representative Yoo Yong-won.
The resolution includes demands for President Lee to retract his "Military Academy coup" remarks and to halt the politically motivated push to establish a unified Armed Forces military academy.
A total of 32 lawmakers from the People Power Party participated in proposing the resolution, including five-term lawmakers Yoon Sang-hyun and Cho Bae-sook, and four-term lawmakers Kim Do-eup, Kim Sang-hoon, and Park Dae-chul.
Chun Ha-ram, floor leader of the Reform Party, and independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon also joined in signing the resolution.
