The Korea Sports Promotion Foundation announced on August 6 that it is operating "heat relief shelters" for local residents and mobile workers to help them cope with the relentless heatwaves.
The corporation has decided to open its shelter, set up in the first-floor cafe space of the Olympic Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, for anyone, including seniors, local residents, and mobile workers such as delivery and courier personnel.
Visitors to the shelter will be provided with free bottled water, and PCs equipped for internet searches and printing are also available.
Additionally, on weekends, the main auditorium of the Olympic Hall will be opened free of charge to local residents who need meeting space to escape the heat.
Meeting spaces can be reserved online through Gongyoonuri (eshare.go.kr).
