The Financial Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has been conducting a raid on the Korea Football Association and other related locations since this morning (August 6).
This marks the first time police have launched a compulsory investigation since the case regarding the Korea Football Association's national team manager appointment process was assigned to the Financial Crime Investigation Unit.
It has been confirmed that the search warrant specifies charges including obstruction of business.
Previously, police summoned former manager Hong Myung-bo as a defendant to question him about overall suspicions surrounding the appointment process.
With today's raid, police plan to secure internal documents from the football association and investigate whether there was any undue interference in the national team manager selection process.
