The World Taekwondo Hanmadang, a festival for Taekwondo practitioners around the globe, has wrapped up its 5-day run.
The "Comprehensive Competition," where teams showcase various elements of Taekwondo such as poomsae and breaking like an artistic performance, served as the grand finale.
Bringing together over 4,000 practitioners from 62 countries to compete in breaking, poomsae, and Taekwondo gymnastics, the World Taekwondo Hanmadang held special significance as it returned to the "Taekwondo mecca," Kukkiwon, for the first time in 10 years.
The highlight was the "Team Comprehensive Competition" held today (August 5).
A total of nine teams that passed the preliminary rounds competed fiercely by combining poomsae, breaking, and self-defense techniques with music and video like a work of art. Among them, Shinhan University's Baekho team claimed victory by sharply portraying a battle between black and white with a chess theme and flawlessly executing high-difficulty breaking.
