U.S. President Trump has stated that negotiations with Iran are progressing smoothly and that the Strait of Hormuz will open soon. He also warned that Iran would face a massive attack if an agreement is not reached, predicting that the results of the negotiations will be known within 48 hours.

U.S. President Trump expressed optimism about negotiations with Iran during an interview with Fox News.
He stated that Iran desperately wants an agreement to resolve months of conflict, adding that the Strait of Hormuz will open soon.
At the same time, he issued a threat that if the strait does not open, Iran will face a very severe attack.
President Trump also noted that negotiations with Iran are going well during a visit to Los Angeles in the west.

Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio also confirmed that the United States is involved in negotiations between Oman and Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump acknowledged as possible reports that a temporary agreement could be announced as early as the 5th, U.S. time.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry reported a positive atmosphere, stating that talks with Oman have yielded positive results so far. Measures under discussion include suspending tolls for 60 days while the parties concerned remove mines from the center of the strait within 30 days.
Amid news of progress in the negotiations, international oil prices plummeted, with Brent crude falling 5%, while New York stock indices such as the Dow Jones hit record highs.
