Anthropic has signed a long-term contract worth $10 billion (approx. 14.2 trillion won) to secure computing capacity from Volta Infrastructure, a GPU-based cloud provider startup, Bloomberg News reported on the 4th (local time), citing sources.
Anthropic is accelerating its efforts to secure data centers to run its AI model, Claude.
Ricard Boada, CEO of Volta Infrastructure, stated earlier in the day without disclosing the counterparty, "We have secured a $10 billion contract with an AI lab."
Volta stated that the data center usage contract period is six years and the data center is located in Norway.
The data center will be built with a capacity of 133 megawatts (MW) and is scheduled to be equipped with NVIDIA's latest "Vera Rubin" chips.
Volta's latest contract was made possible through a partnership with Bitdeer Technologies Group, a Bitcoin mining company that operates data centers.
