"Modu-ui Minju" (Democracy for All), a party member platform spearheaded by young lawmakers of the Democratic Party, held its launch ceremony at the National Assembly today (the 5th) and officially commenced its activities.
Led by lawmakers Kim Nam-jun, Mo Kyung-jong, and Jeon Eun-su, Modu-ui Minju is an opinion-gathering body aimed at broadly collecting the opinions of party members and the public, including the 2030 generation, and reflecting them in party operations.
In his congratulatory speech, Lawmaker Kim said, "Future leaders can be created in the process where party members and citizens gather together to talk, learn, and communicate," adding, "I hope we can together build a community that creates the goal of an irreplaceable Republic of Korea."
Attendees at today's launch ceremony included Choe Min-hee and Han Min-soo, who are pro-Chung Cheong-rae candidates running for the Supreme Council in the August 17 National Convention, as well as Park Sun-won and Seo Mi-hwa, who are pro-Lee Jae-myung figures.
Among the party leadership contenders, candidate Song Young-gil attended, while candidate Kim Min-seok sent a congratulatory video message.
Candidate Chung Cheong-rae was not in attendance.
Initially, Acting Party Leader and Floor Leader Han Byung-do was scheduled to attend the launch ceremony, but his attendance was canceled at the last minute.
This is interpreted as a measure to avoid controversies regarding neutrality during the national convention period, given that the launch of the organization was led by pro-Lee Jae-myung factions.
Lawmaker Kim has long served as a key aide to President Lee Jae-myung, and Lawmaker Jeon also served as the Blue House spokesperson after the launch of the Lee Jae-myung administration.
Lawmaker Mo is also classified as a pro-Lee Jae-myung figure.
