kt's So Hyung-jun and KIA's Castro Named KBO League Shell Helix Players for July

Professional baseball pitcher So Hyung-jun of kt wiz and foreign hitter Harold Castro of the KIA Tigers have been selected as the Shell Helix Players of the month for July in the 2026 KBO League.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced on August 5, "So Hyung-jun ranked first in the pitcher category with a monthly WAR (Wins Above Replacement) of 1.27, and Castro ranked first in the hitter category with 1.53," adding, "Each player will be awarded a prize of 1.5 million won."

The KBO selects and awards the pitchers and hitters who rank first in WAR every month.

So Hyung-jun delivered outstanding performances in July by making five starts, pitching 30.1 innings with a 1.78 ERA and 20 strikeouts, while Castro recorded a batting average of .405 with 17 RBIs during the same month.
