China has already integrated AI into large-scale airstrike drills. Amid controversy over the United States using AI in warfare, China is also accelerating the military application of AI, signaling that the AI hegemony competition between the US and China is now expanding to the battlefield.

This is an airstrike drill involving a massive mobilization of Chinese Air Force fighter jets, transport planes, and aerial refueling tankers.
In this footage broadcast last Sunday by China's state-run CCTV, the Chinese military stated that it conducted the drill utilizing AI technology, namely an "intelligent attack planning system."

The Chinese military explained that the AI system prioritized targets and assigned missions tailored to the characteristics of flight formations and units.
This drill bears similarity to the US military's use of AI systems to conduct airstrike operations at the outbreak of the war in Iran on February 28.
At the time, the US reportedly utilized Palantir's AI system to accurately identify strike targets, analyze strike effectiveness, and assess the prevention of anticipated counterattacks.
Amid fierce controversy over the risks of AI-determined military operations—with AI firm Anthropic opposing the use of its technology in warfare—China has followed the US in 본격적으로 initiating the military application of AI.
Chinese President Xi Jinping also emphasized to the military last week, "We must strengthen the military application of AI systems and build intelligent military systems through the development of network information systems."
The US and China, locked in strategic competition in cutting-edge industries such as AI and semiconductor technology, are now expanding their competitive arena into the military sector powered by AI.
