A man in his 40s has been arrested by police on charges of wielding a weapon against a foreign woman he did not know and fleeing in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
The Seoul Eastern District Court issued an arrest warrant for the man in his 40s, identified as A, who faces charges of attempted murder, stating that there is a concern he might flee and that he lacks a fixed residence.
A is accused of wielding a weapon against a foreign woman in her 50s near Sangwangsimni Station in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, at around 1:00 AM on August 2 and then fleeing.
The victim suffered injuries to her neck and other areas, received treatment at a hospital, and is reportedly not in life-threatening condition.
Following the crime, police tracked A's movements and arrested him at a location in Seoul later that day, subsequently applying for an arrest warrant.
