Model Joo Woo-jae and singer Roy Kim are joining the new expert panel for the SBS audition project "The Ballad of Us 2".
Following actor Moon Geun-young, Joo Woo-jae and Roy Kim have been added to the lineup for "The Ballad of Us 2," which is confirmed to premiere in October, completing a generational shift for the expert panel that completely differentiates it from the previous season.
Joo Woo-jae, who continues his rising momentum after recently winning the Best Entertainer Award at the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards, is stepping up as a new panel member for this season. As a walking ballad archive who has listened to countless ballad songs since childhood, he is expected to add unique variety skills and a fresh perspective, even casting an envious eye on the musical team lineup consisting of Jung Jae-hyung, Roy Kim, and Jung Seung-hwan.
Roy Kim, a 14th-year singer-songwriter since his debut, is also lending his support to the panel. As a current ballad artist who has successfully charted every song he releases, Roy Kim is also a winner of an audition program. He is raising expectations to be a warm advisor who understands the desperate hearts of the contestants on stage better than anyone, as well as playing an active role as part of the professional musical team line alongside Jung Jae-hyung and Jung Seung-hwan.
During its first season, "The Ballad of Us" set major records by ranking first in viewership ratings among the 2049 demographic for all episodes, entering Netflix's South Korea Top 10 series, accumulating 100 million online views, and sweeping the Best Program award in the TV entertainment category at the 39th Korea Broadcasting Awards. This second season has signaled an even fiercer competition, with the number of applicants surging to nearly three times that of the previous year.
Co-produced by SBS and SM C&C, the audition project "The Ballad of Us 2" will kick off its full-scale production schedule with its first recording this month and is scheduled to premiere through SBS in October.
