A woman in her 60s has been apprehended by police on suspicion of murdering her mother-in-law.
The Gyeonggi Seongnam Jungwon Police Station announced today (August 4) that it has booked and is currently investigating a woman in her 60s, identified as A, on charges including parricide.
A is accused of wielding a weapon and killing her 80s mother-in-law, B, at a villa located in Jungwon-gu, Seongnam, yesterday afternoon.
A was arrested by police who were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. the same day following a family member's report.
Police believe the crime occurred after A had lived together with B, who suffered from dementia, for a long time and experienced ongoing conflicts, and are investigating the exact circumstances.
Police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A.
