U.S. President Donald Trump pressed for an agreement on the 3rd (local time), stating that talks with Iran are underway and that this is their last chance.
During a Q&A session with reporters at the White House that day, President Trump mentioned that he called off strikes on Iran at the request of a Middle East nation, stating, "We are currently in talks with Iran. This is the last chance."
President Trump stated that measures to fully open the Strait of Hormuz by the 4th are under discussion, and that the denuclearization of Iran will be negotiated afterward.
He also stated that he would not allow Iran to impose tolls on commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
President Trump noted that on the night of the 1st, he canceled a massive attack on Iran at the request of a Middle East nation, urging a swift agreement.
Additionally, earlier that morning, he voiced frustration over Iran's dual behavior, pointing out that while Iran requested negotiations, it publicly denies doing so.
