A fire broke out in a 25th-floor apartment unit in Maetan-dong, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, at around 5:40 PM today (August 3).
Fire authorities, responding to a report from a resident, dispatched 12 pieces of equipment and 25 personnel to the scene, extinguishing the fire in 17 minutes.
The apartment's sprinkler system reportedly activated during the fire, preventing it from spreading further.
As the fire broke out, about 40 residents evacuated on their own, and no casualties have been reported.
The apartment building is 25 stories high and houses a total of 93 households.
Fire authorities believe the fire started behind the air conditioner where the power outlet is located and are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the damage.
