On July 31, street racers went on a reckless rampage at the Shengli Square intersection in Anshan, Liaoning Province, China.
Receiving reports, Chinese public security authorities mobilized 240 personnel, including armed police, and 51 police cars to apprehend the racers.

By completely surrounding the intersection where the racers were running amok and the anticipated escape routes, they cracked down and arrested 103 racers while seizing 61 motorcycles and vehicles.
It was revealed that most of those arrested were teenagers, and a significant number of them did not even have driver's licenses.
Chinese public security authorities stated that they had organized and planned the street racing collectively, and vowed to punish them severely in accordance with various laws.
Most of the vehicles were illegally modified and lacked license plates, and authorities announced they would also track down and strictly punish the modification shops that helped them.
In China, where group actions are strictly prohibited, local police forces are fully mobilized to make arrests whenever street racer activities are detected in advance.
In South Korea, street racers appear every year on various anniversaries such as the March 1st Movement Day, Liberation Day, and Children's Day. However, in China, due to extremely high levels of punishment and the full confiscation of motorcycles and vehicles used in racing, cases of street racing had been on a downward trend.
Because of this, street racers had almost disappeared across China since 2023, but authorities noted that this case involved an unusual and organized group of racers running amok. Chinese public security authorities stated that they will fundamentally block racers from the stage of gathering by using social media to set times and locations.
