President Lee Jae-myung has returned just a moment ago after wrapping up an 11-day, 7-nation tour. President Lee plans to head straight to the Blue House to preside over an inspection meeting regarding real estate policies and the stock market, addressing domestic economic issues.

President Lee Jae-myung, who concluded his tour of San Francisco in the United States and three South American nations—Brazil, Chile, and Argentina—arrived at Seoul Air Base this morning (August 3) via Frankfurt, Germany.
President Lee will head directly to the Blue House to preside over an inspection meeting concerning real estate policies and the stock market this afternoon.
The inspection meeting is scheduled to be attended by Prime Minister Han Sung-sook, cabinet ministers from related ministries including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Financial Services Commission, as well as Blue House aides.
As the government's upcoming real estate tax code revision, expected to be announced soon, is reportedly being prepared in a direction that increases the tax burden on ultra-high-end homes and non-primary residences, related discussions are anticipated. A Blue House official explained, "We plan to cover real estate measures across the board."
In addition, countermeasures for stock market conditions, including the KOSPI which experienced unprecedented volatility last week, are expected to be major topics.
In particular, attention is focused on whether discussions will be held regarding single-stock leverage ETFs, which have been cited as one of the causes of recent stock price volatility.
The conservative opposition party is intensifying its offensive by demanding a parliamentary investigation into the introduction of leverage ETFs and the resignation of Blue House Policy Chief Kim Yong-beom.
Against this backdrop, President Lee holding a meeting on domestic economic issues immediately upon his return is interpreted as a move to fill any vacuum caused by his 11-day overseas tour and focus squarely on domestic pending issues.
Starting tomorrow, President Lee is also scheduled to receive work reports from 27 ministries, agencies, and commissions, including the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Justice.
