Chef Kim Do-yun, who gained popularity through Netflix's "Culinary Class Wars," has revealed that he has been in a four-year relationship with actor Kim Seo-yeon.
On July 30, a video titled "He Seduced Me via DM, So Why Won't Oppa Tag Me? (with Kim Do-yun, Kim Seo-yeon) | Sa-eol-ppak Ep. 1" was released on the YouTube channel Studio Slam.
In the video, actor Kim Seo-yeon—who made her debut in the 1999 film "Memento Mori" and has starred in dramas such as "The King of Tears, Lee Bang-won," "Hyena," and "Live Your Own Life"—appeared as a guest.
Kim Seo-yeon shared her relationship concerns, saying, "I have a boyfriend, and we've been dating for about four years." She expressed her disappointment, explaining, "On his birthday, I took a picture of a cake and tagged his social media account, but he didn't share my story. He completely hides my existence online. He tags everyone else's stories, but not mine."
In response to comments from those around them such as, "Isn't your boyfriend the macho type?" and "He must be very handsome," Kim Seo-yeon smiled brightly and said, "He has charm."
The identity of her boyfriend was then revealed. The man accompanying her on set was none other than Chef Kim Do-yun from "Culinary Class Wars."
Explaining why he did not repost her on social media, Chef Kim Do-yun clarified that it was out of a desire to protect his girlfriend, saying, "I had concerns about unexpected issues or potential incidents suddenly arising."
Kim Seo-yeon shared her honest feelings, saying, "We've fought so much, blocking and unblocking each other, that we're currently unfollowed. Until now, I couldn't even reveal that he was my boyfriend, and I felt like I was being kept a secret."
The story of how the two first met was also revealed. Kim Seo-yeon confessed, "We first met at an after-party for a senior actor's play. His first impression was very intense; he came with his hair down, giving off a wild vibe. Afterward, he hit on me via DM, asking, 'Do you want to eat pork belly?'"
Kim Do-yun also revealed that his girlfriend Kim Seo-yeon was the reason he decided to appear on "Culinary Class Wars," sharing, "She told me she would break up with me if I didn't go on the show."
Following this, the two agreed to follow each other on social media again and took a couple's photo, wrapping up their relationship counseling on a warm note.
Meanwhile, Chef Kim Do-yun has been capturing viewers' hearts with his unique charm through his appearances in Netflix's cooking competition show "Culinary Class Wars" Seasons 1 and 2, as well as SBS's "Sick Spoiler."
